My Story

I spent the first 8 years of my diagnosis bouncing from one stimulant to the next. It felt like I was either switching medications or increasing my dose every 3-6 months. It was a physical and emotional rollercoaster. I was struggling to keep up with my responsibilities, constantly canceling plans last minute and I had lost the joy in my life. I knew I needed a big life change 

 

I spent the next 2 years testing alternative strategies to get me life back. There was a lot of trial and error... but I started to understand the effects of narcolepsy on the mind and body. Eventually, this led to me to the life I have today. A full life where I am happy, motivated and living without daily stimulants.

The strategies and information that I discovered are what make up Narcolepsy Optimized. My goal is to help individuals use these strategies to get their energy back and live a full life with narcolepsy. You can hear the amazing transformation from others with narcolepsy below.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

What are your credentials, are you a doctor? 

I am not a doctor, nor do I give specific advice on things like meditation. Besides living with Narcolepsy for the past 10 years and spending 100's of hours researching it, I do have relevant experience. I studied Human Health & Kinetics with a specialization in Exercise Science at Ohio Wesleyan University. There I completed my Senior Thesis on Mental and Physiological aspect of collegiate athletic performance and received Acedemic All American Honors on the golf team. After college I started up my own fitness facility and spent 10 years helping others with their health. I also work with other medical professionals like a medical dietician for the nutritional programs. 

Is the goal of the program to become medication free? 

While some individuals do choose to go the natural route, this is not the goal of the program. The goal of the program is to create a more sustainable energy level, improve your sleep and build a healthy lifestyle around your narcolepsy. With that, I do believe it's very beneficial for individuals to find a minimum effective dose of their medication. Having a lower dose decrease risks of side effect and tolerance. Ideally, the changes that we make will give you the extra energy to decrease your current dose. ALL medication changes and planning go directly through your doctor. 

How long are your coaching programs?

Every individual is different and will make progress at their own pace. With that being said, most programs will last 12-16 weeks long. That is typically enough time to create the habit changes needed to improve energy levels and sleep. If a client needs more time, coaching sessions can last as long as needed. 

Will this program work for everyone? 

Right now, I am only taking on clients that I feel strongly that I can help. This is why I require a consultation before starting our sessions. I want to know everything about your situation so I can feel confident that I can provide you with the results you are looking for. Everyone situation is different, the best thing to do is schedule a free call. 

Do you work with individuals who don't have Narcolepsy?

Yes, I work with individuals who suffer from Narcolepsy or individuals who suffer from chronic fatigue. If you are interested in learning more about the process and if you are a good fit, best thing to do is schedule a free call to chat more.
